Clayverse Studio

Clayverse is a ceramics studio created by Katya and Dima Lakshtanov. It was born from Katya’s long-term passion for ceramics and Dima’s deep knowledge of chemistry and best practices from his research lab experiences.

We both studied geochemistry at Moscow State University in Russia. Afterward, we moved to the USA where Dima earned his PhD in mineral physics, and Katya began her career in User Experience and joining a pottery collective. In 2007, we relocated to the UK. By 2022, we had constructed an extension to our home to house our purpose-built ceramics studio.

We're both deeply fascinated by the medium of ceramics with its rich chemistry, physics, and limitless creative potential. Ceramics enable creators, even those without prior experience, to achieve interesting and fulfilling results. Additionally, it provides boundless opportunities for experimentation and artistic expression. 

Our goal is to offer a space where anyone, be it a novice or a seasoned artist, can materialise their ideas with the help of quality clays, glazes, and equipment.
